Tanja and Julian Wedding
I am finally getting around to putting some images of my more recent weddings online as it has been a busy period for the last few months. This particular wedding took place in April in a private venue and was a sheer delight to photograph. I drove from Mayo to Dublin that morning and arrived at the venue for approximately 12:45 to capture the finer wedding detail and started by photographing the banquet hall as it was magnificently decorated.
Post wedding shoot I drove back to Mayo to partake in “part two” of my girlfriends brothers 50th Birthday celebrations. We certainly do love our job and all its travel!.
I have included a few more personal photos of the day in this collection and will include some finer details of the banquet hall at a later stage.
Both Tanja and Julian were so relaxed and it made my job as photographer an easy task to undertake.
As I love B/W & Sepia imagery, my aim was to introduce a timeless feel into the overall shoot by keeping things simple. Oftentimes we are led by fads in photography that will only last a period of time and will begin to look dated through time. Our motto is to keep it simple and put real effort into the artistic composition of each photograph.
We wish Tanja and Julian the best for their new life together.

Particular ad blown up.
This is the second year I have photographically covered the Murphy’s sponsored Cork X Southwest Music and Arts festival on behalf of Entertainment Architects. This year the festival was held in the Liss Ard Estate, just outside Skibbereen, West Cork.
I can honestly say that is is the best small festival I have been to yet, and for many reasons, none the least the crowd, the venue and artists on show. Photographing this venue was an absolute delight, meeting people having a laugh, a drink, a healthy and delicious bite to eat.
Below you can find eight handpicked photos of this festival and directly underneath the photos you will find a slideshow encapsulating my take on this magnificent festival.

Hope Foundation, Come Dine with Us Launch
Last Friday saw me shoot Amanda Brunker at the RTE studios for the Hope Foundation’s “Come Dine with Us” launch. With the excellent help of Sinead and Rosaleen the shoot went remarkably fast even though I put my foot in it by suggesting we undertake the photo shoot by the “thing” on the grass – which was actually Amanda’s sisters sculpture!. Oops, though in all honesty we had a good old laugh……and all of course at my expense.
We took some lovely photos and Amanda was so easy to work with finishing the full shoot in less than 15 minutes. If only all shoots were so quick!.

HOPE Come Dine with Us
Amanda Brunker invites You to Host a Dinner Party
and Raise Funds for the Street and Slum Children of Kolkata
With The Hope Foundation
Do you fancy yourself as the next Jamie Oliver or the new Donal Skehan? If so, why not host your very own “HOPE Come Dine with Us” event and raise funds for the street and slum children of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta)? Amanda Brunker was on hand today to help The Hope Foundation launch “HOPE Come Dine with Us”, which will see groups of friends organise a series of fun dining experiences in aid of a great cause.
The Hope Foundation recommends that a group of friends take it in turns to play host and cook for their friends. It is a great chance to be creative and test your culinary skills and The Hope Foundation is inviting you to be as creative as you like and is not restricting the format. Why not make it a BBQ themed “Come Dine with Us” or just host one dinner party with two chefs – it’s totally up to you!
To be part of the “HOPE Come Dine with Us” experience diners are simply asked to make a donation to The Hope Foundation. The host can set a donation price or it can be at the discretion of the diners. All funds raised will make a difference to the lives of the street and slum children that The Hope Foundation works with.
The Hope Foundation, set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girls’ home, now works with 16 Indian NGO partners to help thousands of children from the streets and slums of Kolkata, improve their quality of life, and give them a better future. Currently funding over 60 projects, HOPE reaches out to the most forgotten; offering protection, healthcare, nutrition, education, rehabilitation and a family for life; and to date has reached out to almost 25,000 children through education alone and hundreds of thousands more through primary healthcare, in partnership with Irish Aid.
“HOPE Come Dine with Us” is open to everyone, and your “dinner party” can make a real difference. For an information pack with further details call (086) 8069900 or email rosaleen@hopefoundation.ie.

James Vincent McMorrow at the Pepper Canister Church
I had the pleasure of photographing the second of two recent James Vincent McMorrow gigs at the Pepper Canister Church on the 28th April.
Jennifer Evans played excellent support given her range of genres that she covers so effortlessly, her striking voice capitulating into the realms of “almost” angry blues, new folk and salient jazz and providing plenty of energy on stage which was simply addictive.
James Vincent Mc Morrow, however did the opposite, this relatively new artist cast a spell on the audience whilst punctuating the vicissitudes of silence with occasional self deprecating humour coupled with a hearty grin. I try to compare this artist with some of the obvious greats but no justice can be done with simile – James was simply mesmerizing. His backing singers were there when needed to lift his supreme voice into another level.
My aim was to capture the photos in simple terms. The only colour composite photos were the two shots of the venue at the start to emphasise the lighting. The remaining photos were (nearly) all B/W and toned slightly antique for an old feel and to create a mood, helping to create an ageless time where none but song enlightens the soul.
I was lucky, catching a rare moment where James turned to the left (away from the stage) and let go. For this and some of the other photos I captured using ISO 6400 explains the grain which is present in a number of photos.
The final photo is one where James has been presented with a Gold disc for sales of his “Early In The Morning” album, posing happily with his parents.

A small sample of photography from Jodie and Shannon’s wedding in April just gone. This wedding took place in the stunning grounds of Castle Leslie, Glaslough, Co Monaghan.

Simon and Natasha Engagement Shoot
The photos in this collection are some of the shots taken on Simon and Natasha’s recent engagement shoot. Simon contacted me through the o2 treats program and we settled on a location in the Pheonix Park, ie the pond just off the Ordinance Road.
Being mid Spring the weather was cool but not warm enough to take off coats, but this did not stop us from capturing some intimate moments of the lovely couple. The backdrop is wonderful to shoot in and the light this time of year very illuminating.
